Poetry Reorganization & Subject Labels

Picture
Picture
We've re-organized the poetry section and along the way we added subject label stickers. Whether looking for funny or scary poetry or poems about sports, dogs, history, or any of our other subject labels it's easier than ever to find them!

Subject Labels & Easy Markers for Easy Readers and Early Chapters

Picture
Picture
We've made it a lot easier to browse in our easy readers and early chapter books. Our subject labels help students find books that interest them. Our easy designations help students and teachers find books at the right level. The easiest easy readers are marked with light blue dots at the top of the spine and the easiest early chapter books are marked by a dark green strip at the top of the spine (see the pictures above).

Folklore Guides & Subject Labels

Picture
We've added guides to our folklore shelves to help patrons find the type of folklore they're looking for from Africa to the United States. The folklore section now has subject labels as well, making it easier to find books about royalty or scary Baba Yaga tales.

Dewey Guides

We updated the subject guides in our lower school nonfiction section to make it easier to browse and find the topic you're looking for. The lower school labels include images so even our youngest students can find books on dogs, trains, and ancient Egypt. Our upper school nonfiction section now has subject labels as well.

Shelving Guides

Picture
We've refreshed our shelving guides throughout the library. The old ones were peeling off and not always accurate, but our new ones are easy to change out as books shift and they are clear and easy to read.

Series Displays

Our juvenile fiction section has new display boxes for series fiction. It's easy to find your favorite series and if you forget the order of the books, then you can find a series guide on the left side of the display.

New Dragon Room Display

Picture
Our latest Dragon Room display emphasizes the library as a safe space for everyone and features many of our favorite authors and illustrators.

Weeding & Shifting

Last, but certainly not least we've done some much-needed weeding in our lower school nonfiction section. This will ensure that our books are accurate and appealing. The weeding allowed us to do some shifting as well so there's more space in our popular, impacted sections like our animal books.
